One of the toughest things I’ve found about being a writer is feeling like I have to find a niche in order to please editors and clients (and thus find work). Sure, I do love to write about off-road adventure, food, fashion, and swimming-related topics as it pertains to health and parenting. This experience helps me land article and copywriting assignments in these areas. And I am certainly strong at profile writing. However, I think what really matters is your idea or skill must hit the right person and the right market at the right time; and as the writer it is executed to the standards set before you. I’ve been able to do that with these samples (some articles may be available for reprint):
