I love catchy bits about a product or person, don't you? It's taken me a long time to craft my mantra, but here it is: Love what you do, write about what you do, and get your writing published. This means although I have writing niches, I've found what works best for the editor or client is to focus on using my skills to help others forward their causes. I also think it is my unique perspective combined with a savvy voice that captures attention. Here's some more La-De-Da's:

Copywriter. I support corporations, nonprofits, ad agencies and publications with my writing, editing and proofing skills. My client list has included the Gap, Inc., Adidas, Adobe, L’Oreal, St. Vincent de Paul, and American Heart Association.

Journalist. Published in more than 50 different magazines, Websites and newspapers, credits include the Willamette Week, The Cleveland Plain Dealer, Vodka Magazine, Novato Advance, Off.road.com, Xtreme Offroad Magazine, Citysearch.com, and Net Clearly Magazine.

Outdoor Enthusiast & Swimmer. This is best defined by explaining I’m into open water swimming in oceans, lakes, and other bodies of water where you cannot see two inches in front of your face. I’m also concerned about water workouts, how to achieve chlorine-free skin and hair, and the best ways to waterproof your child. Being a Northern California native, I love off-road sports, hiking, fishing, camping and skateboarding. I take decent pictures of this stuff, too.

Minimalist & Sustainability. This means I’m into hip – not hippie – green clothing, and not a lot of it. I enjoy environmentally conscious banks, weeding wardrobes down to what you really need, and the kind of composting and recycling where you don’t break a sweat (or get a funny smell).

Teacher. I’ve got what you call a gift for teaching. I have ten years of teaching and tutoring experience with students age 6 to 66. This includes instruction in swimming, computers (Microsoft Suite), typing, writing, SAT, and phonics. I’m certainly for hire in the teaching/tutoring arena.

Also, I’d like for you to not forget my:

  • B.A. in Journalism with a minor in Environmentalism, Humboldt State.
  • Teaching credential, Dominican College.
  • Twelve years of versatile freelance writing, editing and proofing experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word Suite, along with Adobe Acrobat.
  • Somewhat of a cutting-edge technological office (a fax, scanner, printer, digital recorder, digital camera, cell phone, laptop and The Clapper™)
